Women’s Expo ideas needed

We’re brainstorming here at American 1 (you can probably smell the smoke where you’re at) on what type of presentation we could offer at the Women’s Expo this fall in the auditorium at Parkside that women would want to see. Something educational, but fun. Something relevant to our community/residents that would be beneficial. A hot topic that’s not too controversial.

And we’re not talking about businesses pitching their product or ideas and trying to earn more customers. We want to learn something, or grow in some way.

How we can add to our Women’s Expo events and attract more guests as well? If you have an idea of something that you or maybe a female friend or family member would be interested in learning about, let us know in the comments below.

One thing you guys use to have and I loved was the Cotton wood cloggers. They would be fun to see again.

More food booths, beauty salons, churches, maybe more hands on stuff.

Photobook and other photo related product demonstrations; how easy it is to create great coffee table photobooks of your families memories, etc.

Shopping on a budget for clothes. Maybe a style show from some of the area thrift shops. Many people can’t afford new clothes in this economy.

similar idea to the one above but this time with cooking. Most of us are busy moms, with raising a family, taking care of our husbands and running the household and working. i don’t know about everyone else but cooking is the last thing on my mind. Healthy eating that’s on a budget and cheap!

    Thanks

…a booth that features household budgeting as a whole would be nice. Ways to save money grocery shopping, maybe suggestions for online coupon sites. Cooking quick delicious meals on a budget is a great idea! It’d be great to see suggestions for common fix it issues around the house, tips for laundry, stains out of carpet, etc… Gardening and landscaping tips too. I’ve never been before, so maybe some of these have already been presented. As a new homeowner, I do plan on checking it out this year

I can remember going to other women’s expos and they had mini discussions through out the day on things like–
how music affects us — CPR –seeing the bright side of life — laughter is the best medicine —how to talk to your teen and much more.

Why discriminate against half of your members, have a Expo for everyone.

See if Schupbach’s Sporting Goods and Dunham’s sports will sponsor some of there products and have some free giveaway’s.

Meijers also have good sporting goods and are heavily involved in community activities.

    Thanks, Bobby
