Paws & Claws Expo - Dolled up

It’s ruff (ha!) being a pet fashion show model: all that attention and scratches behind the ear.

But our doggie models strutted their stuff down the cat (dog?) walk during Saturday’s fashion show at the Paws & Claws Expo. Check out all the pictures from the event at our Flickr gallery.

And thanks to everyone who came out to support these great pets and the Cascades Humane Society.

Winter Wonderland - Welcome

American 1 brought the first-ever Winter Wonderland to the Nite Lites Christmas light show at the Jackson County Fairgrounds in 2009.

American 1 Event Center signs up

Look at that. As of yesterday, our signs at the American 1 Event Center are up. If you’re driving down Ganson St. in Jackson, you’ll see the sign above. We also have them posted on the North and West sides of the building.

You can see the lighted sign above, too, which means we can announce events and happenings with flashy graphics and text.

Welcome to the American 1 Event Center

This is at the North entrance to the Event Center, coming in the main doors.

We’re glad the signs were up in time for the Jackson County Fair, which takes place all next week. Look for our booth inside the Event Center all week long.

Check out the rest of the American 1 Event Center signs on our Flickr page.

Fair manager optimistic about Event Center partnership

American 1 president/CEO Dave Puckett and fair manager Steve Thelen

With the “shop local” movement in full swing, Jackson County Fair Manager Steve Thelen thinks a local “have fun” movement should accompany it, especially with high-quality venues and entertainment outlets “right down the street.”

“Folks can revisit what they have locally,” Thelen says. “This community has tons of opportunities.”

Thelen is optimistic about American 1’s sponsorship of the new American 1 Event Center at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. The partnership, he says, will ensure a community cornerstone will stay functional and operational. This after American 1 pledged $112,500 over ten years for the naming rights and to help keep the facility maintained.

“This is a way, through the partnership with American 1, to insure the Event Center’s financial stability,” Thelen says. “The light and fuel bills aren’t going down anytime soon. We have to make sure we can cover our base costs so we can provide local entertainment.”

Providing local entertainment is what the American 1 Event Center can do best. Continue reading ‘Fair manager optimistic about Event Center partnership’
