Chelsea Kids' Fest - Practice

It was a beautiful, sunny day at our Chelsea Kids’ Fest this past Wednesday. You can check out pictures from the event at our Flickr photo gallery.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot had a nice write up on the event in Thursday’s paper. Check it out.

Thanks for everyone who came! If you’re interested in participating next year, visit our Kids’ Fest page for contact information.

Congratulations to Lisa P. of Diamondale – she won our “I Heart Michigan” vacation prize package.

Lisa works at Jackson Public Schools and heard about our Kids’ Fest event from our coloring sheets. She brought her kids to the event, filled out an entry form, and was picked as our lucky winner.

Lisa wins:

  • 20 Lansing Lugnuts ticket vouchers
  • Binder Park Zoo season passes
  • Michigan Adventure tickets
  • $100 to Goodrich Quality Theaters
  • $75 worth of gas cards

Talk about a summer of fun.

Congratulations, Lisa!

Kids’ Fest bike winners

American 1 Kids' Fest bikes

Congratulations to our two Kids’ Fest bike winners, Robert and Sierra.

American 1 offered an entry to win a boy’s or girl’s bike at both the Jackson and Hillsdale Kids’ Fests. Robert and Sierra were our lucky winners, and get to take home these great new Huffy bikes.

Be safe!

Hillsdale Kids' Fest

We had a great time at both June Kids’ Fest events in Jackson and Hillsdale.

Head to our Flickr site to browse through pictures from both days. We were lucky to be inside during the Jackson Kids’ Fest at Parkside – Hillsdale’s event was hot, hot, hot!

Our next Kids’ Fest is taking place at Chelsea’s Timbertown Park on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

We had a great time at the first Chelsea Kids’ Fest yesterday at Timbertown Park.

About 150 kids and parents came to the park to enjoy a sunny summer day. We brought the Chelsea District Library, the fire department, and the police department K-8 unit to help kids have a good time.

Check out pictures of the event on our Flickr page. See you next year!

Got water? Our water bottles explained.

American 1\'s customized water bottles

Everyone loves our water.

They love it so much, in fact, that we found out we gave away about 60,000 bottles in less than a year. From late last summer, when we introduced the new label design (above) to now, 60,000 water bottles have been taken and consumed. Amazing.

Why does American 1 do it? For one, it’s a great giveaway to charity golf events and school carnivals. We get tons of requests from non-profits to donate giveaways at community activities, and what could be better than a bottle of water?

We also use our bottled water to raise money for groups that helps us out during events like Kids’ Fest. A group from Hanover-Horton High School ran our concession stands, selling our bottled water for $0.25 – and all the money they raised was donated back to their organization.

If you’re lucky enough to come in during one of our Home Office popcorn Fridays, you can usually snag a bottle to wash down the popcorn. We also give bottles away at the myriad other activities we have going on. The stuff is popular.

The Water Store here in Jackson puries, bottles, and labels the water for us, and the water tastes great.

It must, if we’ve gone through 2,500 cases already.
