American 1 Sponsors Radio Contest for $2,500

JACKSON, Mich. – The King Family was the big winner of Ann Arbor’s 107.1 Newest Listener contest on April 21st, 2012. They won a check for $2,500 presented by American 1 Credit Union. The contest was for families that had children at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital. The King family called into the radio station to qualify after they had their daughter at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital, and were chosen randomly on April 21st, 2012. They have two children and plan to use the money to start an education fund for both of their children. The Newest Listener Party, where all forty qualifying families were invited, was held at Suburban Chevrolet in Ann Arbor and included a live concert by Ariel, Zoey & Eli.

Helping Our Community Fight Against Identity Theft

JACKSON, Mich. – On Saturday, April 18^th at our Clinton Township Branch and on Saturday, May 5^th, at our Home Office in Jackson, American 1 Credit Union held free community Shred Days.  Community members and small businesses were encouraged to bring confidential information to be shredded and recycled, and to help prevent identity theft.  We had several community members take advantage of this opportunity at both locations.

Those who attended were able to enter in to a drawing for a personal shredder provided by American 1 Credit Union.  The winners of the drawings were June M., of Clinton Township and Linda F., of Jackson.  There are two more community shred days scheduled for this year.  Clinton Township Branch Shred day is September, 22^nd, and the Jackson Home Office Shred Day is on September 29^th both from 12pm to 3pm.
